As a Northeast Ohio native, Dr. Spitz is excited to be joining Akron Dermatology. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Kent State University and earned her Doctor of Medicine from Northeast Ohio Medical University. In medical school, Dr. Spitz received highest honors, graduating top ten in her class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. Dr. Spitz pursued additional education while in medical school, simultaneously completing her Master’s in Business Administration from University of the Southwest. 
 

Dr. Spitz went on to complete her residency in Dermatology at Emory University where she served as Chief Resident. Following residency, she pursued a prestigious fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. During fellowship, Dr. Spitz was fortunate to gain extensive experience in managing both common and rare cutaneous malignancies. Dr. Spitz has published a variety of research articles in top dermatology journals and serves on numerous committees for dermatology’s largest professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. 
 

Dr. Spitz specializes in both the surgical and non-surgical management of skin cancer. She also has extensive experience and interest in treating medical dermatology conditions and performing cosmetic and laser procedures. In her free time, Dr. Spitz enjoys visiting local Cleveland restaurants and coffee shops, biking, and traveling.
